** This knife has been worked on- it’s been thinned due to scratches, and the forge scale kurouchi finish has been removed in the process, so isn’t sellable as original condition and therefore is being offered at a steep discount. This knife was originally sold for $800. Cosmetically it’s not perfect, and there are some fine hairline scratches still visible from sanding that are challenging to bring out in photos. This has been sitting on my project shelf for a long time. I had intended to give it a finer finish, but just don’t have the bandwidth. If someone was interested in playing around with polishing, this would be a very fine candidate. All that being said it’s ready to work now and is still a very pretty package indeed. The cutting geometry is killer (See choil and spine pics) and it has a nice blade forward balance. And that’s not even mentioning that gorgeous handle!
