Eric Divine was a lawyer turned beginner knife maker who came in to my shop regularly to get my feedback and have me do cutting tests as he was learning the ins and outs of knife grinds and knife making. When he finally felt ready to go pro, and his grinds passed all the tests, he gifted me this set.
This is a killer deal for a great handmade, high performance, and beautiful 2 piece set of the two (in my opinion) most fundamental knives in a cooks kit- the 8.5 chefs knife and the 5.5” petty, or utility knife. Super clean and elegant looks, with aeb-l stainless steel with a brushed satin finish, some very nice maple burl for the octagonal wa style handle, and simple brass ferrule to top things off. The blade is a laser style grind with a super utilitarian focus- very thin behind the edge and at the tip for excellent cutting performance, but not thin enough to feel too fragile. Knives have been finish sharpened by me.
Condition is new, never used, and excellent condition. For full disclosure, there is one small and light scratch up near the tip, about the size of an eyelash, but is so light I couldn’t get it to show up in a picture.
