9” cutting edge, blade is 6 1/4” tall at the front edge, 16” overall length, weight is 2lbs 11oz or 1.22 kilos.
This vintage cleaver is a great choice for someone wanting a handle project. I cleaned and sharpened the blade, and it is in great condition considering its age. There is a little surface level corrosion, but no heavy pitting at all, what you see is mostly just patina. The blade seems as if it has had almost no use, I sharpened it only to remove a little chunk of rust out of the edge near the heel. The handle is “structurally sound” and has been scrubbed and sanded a little, so it is usable but there are gaps between the handle and tang and lord knows what worked it’s way in there, so I would recommend a new one. I don’t really mess with handles or have the time so I’m passing it on. It’s a little higher priced than I’d like but I paid a good bit for it and it seems pretty rare to find one in this good of condition. I believe it holds some good resale value, especially if it was given a new handle.
