I’m not sure how much crossover there is between my chef knife folks and fans of mid century Californian arts and crafts, but I like both of those things so maybe you will too!
These were made by the super prolific and influential California mid century design power couple Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman under their ERA Industries umbrella, most likely in the late 1950s or early 60s. The price may seem a little shocking to some of yall, but they’re actually, in my opinion, substantially underpriced, as they are highly collectible and very rare indeed. I’ll be sad to see them go, I’m a big fan of Evelyn and Jerome’s work, and they’re a real piece of California design history. They’ve added such a warm and natural touch to every room they’ve ever been in, and I hope they’ll find a home that appreciates them. Dimensions are 9.5x9.5x1.65”
