From Elias Sideris, out of Oakland, California, and weighing in at 888 grams, or just under 2 pounds, with an 8.5” cutting edge, this heavyweight cleaver features a 1084 core laid into reclaimed antique wrought iron from the basement of the Lamson and Goodnow cutlery factory in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, and dates to somewhere around 1850-1890. The bolster is beautifully sculpted mild steel paired with Honduran rosewood scales and brass double pins.
